Ann Victoria was known as "Annie".
Victoria's first husband died at Battle of Gettysburg, and is said to have been "tallest man in Caldwell County" — his brother George W. stood 6'4", according to his service record; also said to have been handsome man, spare-built"; daguerreotype in possession of George Martin Holloway suggests this description correct.

On Feb 18, 1868, Annie married Stanhope A. Johnson, the younger brother of Ann Elvira Johnson who, on Apr 30 1863, had married Victoria's brother John McCall Bristol after he was discharged Mar 22, 1863 from the Confederate army due to lung disease.
