Battle Map of Gettysburg McPherson's Ridge Jul 1, 1863.
Victoria's first husband died at Battle of Gettysburg, and is said to have been "tallest man in Caldwell County" — his brother George W. stood 6'4", according to his service record; also said to have been handsome man, spare-built"; daguerreotype in possession of George Martin Holloway suggests this description correct.
John Burton Holloway, killed at Gettysburg in 1863.
Son John Burton , named for his father, was born 8 days after his father was killed in the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1, 1863.
