Daniel's grandfathers,
Giles Badger, and
Stephen Swett, and his great grandfathers,

were all among the first settlers of Newbury Massachusetts, founded in 1639.

Both of Daniel's parents, died of smallpox about the same time in March
1691, when he was only three years old. |

Daniel moved to Coventry Connecticut from Hartford. Coventry is northeast of
Hartford and southeast of Suffield. There is a record of a deed for him there
dated July 1716. |
