When Ernest decided to pursue the ministry full-time, Leila felt that he should attend the best seminary, so in 1930 the family drove east to Princeton NJ. While Ernest attended Princeton Seminary, Leila taught Lisabeth at home until she was entered into the ninth grade and graduated high school about the time she turned 15.
