Bavaria was named after a tribe dating back to 6th Century A.D. It is now the largest German state in area and is located in Southeastern Germany.
Sons Johann Georg and Johann Adam emigrated with families separately from different towns in Mar 1747 and Apr 1753. Georg came as an "Economistbürger with family" and Adam came as a "Landwirth" [farmer] with his wife and six children with a note "now in Holunbrunn". Emigration records [German Emigration Database, pp. 324, 1205].
In Mar 1847, son Johann Georg was listed as emigrating from Oberkotzau, which is a "municipality in Upper Franconia in the district of Hof in Bavaria" [mapcarta.com, wbsite]. This is where his father died one year earlier.
In Apr 1853 son Adam emigrated from Grafenreuth, which is a "village in Thiersheim, Wunsiedel, Bavaria" [mapcarta.com, wbsite].
Son Adam married twice, both wives named Elizabeth. The second wife, Elizabeth Rocktaeschel, died a widow in 1903. She was listed as a pioneer in Dodge County, Wisconsin, which was formed in 1836 and organized in 1844.
Daughter Anna Catharina married Johann Nicol Riedel (1810-bef 1859 in Germany) by 1843 when they had a son George Reidel (1843-1918), born in Oberfranken, Bavaria. He died in WI on Dec 17, 1918 [geni.com, website].
Adam may be buried with his brother and other members of the Robish family in Greenwood Cemetery in Jefferson County Wisconsin. Photo of Monument.
