Cheshire was part of Wallingford until 1780 when it separated from Wallingford and became its own town.
In the Revolutionary War, Gideon was a Private in Capt. Bunnell's Company, Col. Douglass' Regiment, Connecticut Line at Harlem Heights & White Plains. As a Cpl., he served at Lexington Alarm.
Daughter Delight married Ezra Bristol, son of Ezra Bristol (1753-1819), who was a grandson of Henry Bristol Jr. (1683-1750).
Abigail is buried with Gideon and their son Sherlock at Hillside cemetery in Cheshire. Photo of Tombstone. Sherlock died of poison.
