St. John's Parish in Maryland was created in 1692, by an Act of the Assembly. Its boundary was from Gunpowder River to the head of Middle River witin Gunpowder River hundred" [Baltimore Co. Court Records, Liber F, No. 1, p.338].
Will of Jonathan Richardson, dated 5 Oct. 1772, proven May 24, 1773.
Son Joseph and his wife Sarah moved with most of their children to western Rockingham County about 1795, settling on the North Beaver Island Creek, on or near the Stokes County line. Joseph does not appear in the 1790 Rockingham County Census as a head of household.
Son Jesse was a Brigadier General under General "Mad" Anthony Wayne, and helped clear the Wilderness Pike.
