Husband John Hood was a farmer. He bought 66 1/2 acres on White's Mill Creek from Thomas Day on Aug 31, 1802, in Chesterfield (which was originally named Hoodville), Lower Creek Twp, Burke Co. NC.

Son John Kincaid Hood married Mahala Hood (1804-1877), daughter of Richard Hood, of Warrior Creek in Wilkes Co. NC in 1826.
Son Robert married in 1830 and had a son Alexander Hood who in 1856 married Mary Holloway, daughter of George Holloway, son of George Holloway (1766-1851).
Son James married Eudocia Bristol in 1834 and son David married Emeline Elizabeth Bristol in 1837, both daughters of Benedict Bristol. David later moved to Burke Co., buying part of Benedict's old farm on Bristol's Creek.
In the 1840 Burke Co. NC Census on line 7 of extracted page 7, John Hood headed a household of 3 members:
1 male aged 20 to 30 (son ?),
1 male aged 60 to 70 (John),
1 female aged 60-70 (Isabella therefore born in late 1770 or after),
and no slaves.
Son David headed a household on the first line of extracted page 19, with 4 members:
1 male under age 5,
1 male aged 30-40 (David),
1 female under age 5,
and 1 female aged 20-30 (wife Emeline Elizabeth Bristol),
and no slaves.

Youngest son Andrew Washington Hood sold the Hood property prior to 1860 and moved west to Indiana and then Iowa. He married Nancy Caroline Tuttle (1822-1910), daughter of Andrew Hull Tuttle and Elizabeth McCall, daughter of Robert McCall.
