John Hood was a farmer. He bought 66 1/2 acres on White's Mill Creek from Thos Day on Aug 31, 1802, in Chesterfield (which was originally named Hoodville), Lower Creek Twp, Burke Co.
Son John Kincaid Hood married Mahala Hood (1804-1877), daughter of Richard Hood of Warrior Creek in Wilkes Co. NC in 1826.
Son Robert married in 1830 and had a son Alexander Hood who in 1856 married Mary Holloway, daughter of George Holloway, son of George Holloway (1766-1851).
Son James married Eudocia Bristol in 1834 and son David married Emeline Elizabeth Bristol in 1837, both daughters of Benedict Bristol. David later moved to Burke Co., buying part of Benedict's old farm on Bristol's Creek.
