Samuel Judkin's will, dated Feb 13 1671, was probated May 7, 1672.
Samuel's death left his two year-old son Charles without a father. Lydia remarried
before she died in 1678. Her death left Charles an orphan. Her second husband was
Capt. Thomas Pittman, Sr. On Mar 14, 1678, Capt. Pittman was given custody
of the young boy. |

Sons Samuel and Robert and their stepfather, Thomas Pittman, Sr., were among the 40
"less prominent Baconians" (supporters of Bacon's Rebellion) who took the King's
pardon, Feb 6, 1676/7. |
