Elizabeth's father, Edmund Greenleaf, was one of the
eighteen pioneer settlers of Newbury Massachusetts,
being granted a house with 4 acres and an additional 12 acres.
Both her husbands, Giles Badger and Richard Browne,
were also among the first settlers of Newbury Massachusetts.

Giles emigrated to America with two of his brothers, Nathaniel and Richard, within
months of the death of their father, John. His brothers both probably returned
to England without starting families in America. |

On Jul 12, 1639, Giles Badger purchased 2 acres of land in Newbury. His land
bordered west of the land owned by Edmund Greenleaf,
the father of his future wife. |

Elizabeth's second husband, Richard Browne, had emigrated in 1634 to Ipswich,
Massachusetts on the ship Mary and John, and came to Newbury the following year. |
