Prince George's County MD was created by the Council of Maryland in the Province of Maryland in 1696 from portions of Charles and Calvert Counties (see present day map for location).
Henry's land, called Woodsjoy was originally in the part of Calvert Co. that became Prince George County MD. Calvert County was established in 1658. The area was first settled as Charles County in 1650 (see present day map for location).
Present day Charles County borders Calvert and Prince George's County. (see present day map for location).
Jane married Henry when he was about 50 years old and she was about 18. Thomas Taney, the administrator of Henry's will, married his widow. Thomas was much younger than Henry.
