In 1759, Samuel purchased land across the river from what became Petersburg VA. |

About 1790, Samuel lived in Wake County, North Carolina, according to the first
U. S. census. By 1795, Samuel had moved to Warren County NC to join relatives who
had relocated to the Fishing Creek region where he was a cotton farmer. His brother
Daniel moved nearby around 1800 and continued to farm cotton there until his
death in 1822. |
