The area of the Holland Land Purchase was opened for settlement in the first decade of the 19th century. Zaccheus's sons Peter and Isaac seem to have been in the first group of settlers, purchasing land in 1805. David followed them soon after, being elected "Path Master" -- i.e., road supervisor -- in 1812.
Son Isaac was a soldier in War of 1812.
