Frederick Calvit, of said District, last will and testament.
After paying all my just debts, to my beloved wife, Mary, one-third of what
property I may possess, to enjoy the same as long as she lives; but if she
should marry then she and her husband shall give my exrs. good and sufficient
security that her one-third and likewise what other property she may have
possessed at her marriage, shall descend to my children at her decease.
To my dear children: Elizabeth, William, Lucrecia, Mumford, Alexander, and
Joseph, the remainder of what property I may have at my death (still reserving
to my dear wife, one-third). Should wife be pregnant and delivered of a child
in nine months, the child shall have his or her share as my children mentioned
above. To Rachel Spikes, a poor orphan girl whom I have brought up, a Mare,
two cows and calves when she comes of age from my estate.
My wife, John Bisland, Thomas Marston Green and my brother, Thos. Calvit, of
this District, my exors. My dear wife shall not contract any matters of
consequence without consulting someone of the exrs. Signed.
