In 1716 and 1718, Nathaniel Sr. deeded land to his three son-in-laws: Thomas Harrison, Benjamin Blount, and Zack Gerkin or Jurkin.
Nathaniel Sr. was a planter. According to his will dated Nov 2, 1720, his home plantation was at that time located at Edenton, Chowan Co. NC. His will was witnessed by son-in-law, Benjamin Blount, (1688?-1740).
Albemarle County was formed in 1664 but by 1670 part of it had been split into Chowan and Perquimans Precincts. In 1722, Edenton was established as the county seat of Chowan. See Map of the North Carolina Counties in 1740.
